Summary

Amends the

Quarantine Act 1908
to allow the minister to appoint a Commissioner to conduct a Commission of inquiry into the outbreak of equine influenza in Australia, and provides that relevant powers and protections in the
Royal Commission Act 1902
apply to the inquiry. Also makes consequential amendments to the
Archives Act 1983
,
Freedom of Information Act 1982
and
Privacy Act 1988
.
